Oh yes you will. Even if you aren't yet at the (blissful) stage of being able to give your baby food directly from your plate, it's a good idea to show willing by eating some of the food you are giving them. And, by the way, looking as if you are enjoying it.
This has its limits, of course. Thanks to my Aunt Eileen's tried-and-tested method of cooking carrots (an easy enough recipe, simply boil for three days and serve at a clammy temperature) I cannot stomach the things. Luckily, the baby doesn't know that I am eating raw carrot while she is tucking into some lightly steamed ones.

Ha – you are so right! Not for me and hubby, we are veggie-aholics anyway. But a brilliant side-effect of our tentative start at BLWing is that my 2 year old son (will eat anything as long as it's yoghurt) wants to eat everything that Babyred is having. He's had more veg and fruit in the last week than I've managed to poke down him in months!
And we are REALLY motoring now – one week in and Babyred has had a go at carrot, broccoli, green beans, asparagus, new potatoes, kiwi fruit, pears, banana, cucumber sticks and pear quarters. The last two being firm faves and everything else given a good gnawing with the exception of the asparagus (well, it does taste of wee).
Haven't had this much fun with food since attempting a re-enacting of 9.5 weeks as a teenager (nuff said)…
what a fabulous side-effect… i would never have thought of that. sounds like babyred and toddlerred are both doing brilliantly.
