I'm joining the gym!

Postby Morlyte » 24 Jun 2014, 15:47

Well, I'm booked in for a tour. I have cancelled all my monthly box subscriptions and am full on going for the gym. Since going on the cerazette (and then coming off again), I have soared from a size 14 to an 18, nothing is firm anymore on account of my hypermobility which is causing my knees to lock and hips to ache 24/7. My bike helps but by the time the kids are in bed, Im too lazy to go out so I am joining the gym and told DH that he will put the kids to bed 2 days a week while I go off to the gym at 6pm! They have a pool too, which is what I will use mostly as the physio said I have to stay away from high impact exercise until my knees and hips have strengthened!

No real reason to my post I just think if I put it here then I'll have to go. :D

Good luck. I have recently joined a gym (5 weeks ago) I have managed to go 3-4 times a week once the children are in bed. It's hard to motivate at times but I try to remember how I feel once I have been.
Aspiring yummy mummy but managing to be a slummy mummy to 2 gorgeous boys.

This is what I will be trying to do, I can cycle to and from the gym as it is just down the road albeit uphill on the way home! :D

Swimming 4 times a week is my initial aim. The local council pool membership is cheaper but its further away and as I dont drive it would end up costing me more in bus fare. Im not sure this one has a bar though! :o

Oo reallt well thanks, last week I swam three times after DH got in from work. Saturday I had an appointment with a PT who gave me a list of things to do for 4 weeks and today I did my second day of the PT's workout. Today was MUCH harder than yesterday! So my plan this week is PT workout, then a swim/sauna three times in the week and a swim on Sunday.

Wish I could muster the same cooperation from my other half. I really need to do something. I know I just whinge about it and don't actually do anything about it. Someone actually thought I was heavily pregnant the other day. Mortifying. But until C is at nursery I am stuck at home feeling sorry for myself. Oh well, may as well have another biscuit... :-/ (kidding)

But also yes, well done, Morlyte! That is actually what I intended on posting before I immediately became all self-pitying and made it all about me! Keep up the great work - hope you're feeling good about it all :-)
