Party bag help?

Oh look, it's broadly a place to talk about special occasions, party tips and to swap present ideas but let's be perfectly honest, this forum is here because I want to get excited about CHRIIIIIISTMAS from about June onwards.

Party bag help?

Postby felizefun » 25 Apr 2014, 09:51

For DD's 4th birthday 20 kids are invited. I want to give book from The Works as party bag presents, together with a slice of cake. Should I get an story book (this ... 0747597964) or an activity book (this ... 0230752610).

- DD goes absolutely ape-shit over activity/sticker books but it's short-lived. Once all the stickers are used up and the activities done, the book is forgotten. But I think Dear Zoo is quite a popular book so I kind of like the activity version of it.

- Story books on the other hand get read again and again so it's something to be cherished. But I'm not sure Bear Flies High is a good book.

Could you please help me choose one? They are both the same price.

If go sticker/activity as I find the party bag is what keeps everyone sane(ish) in the pre bed post party cactus hour - mine would be unlikely to sit and read a book if they are party hyped but would be exited to do a new activity.

i would go activity myself…..i totally get your argument but i think the children would think a activity book is cooler.

Thanks. I agree with you, my DD would love to receive an activity book as a present, too.

I'd appreciate an activity book as we already have LOTS of story books, so I though know you can never really have too many, a new one has to be really good (in my opinion) for me to appreciate it. Whereas there are always hideous afternoons or long train journeys when it's good to have a new activity book stashed away.
