The Festivals 2013 thread

We bought tickets for Deershed last night :D

It will be DP's first festival (& the girls'). It will probably be our first trip away with our new tent (unlikely we'll go anywhere before then, although I'm sure we will pitch it in the garden a few times).

It's the same weekend as the finish of the TdF, so we'll miss the last mountain stages on the Friday and Sat, as well as the Champs Élysées. A bit gutted about that :( Wondering whether to set the planner for the stages and try to avoid the results?!

Who's going where this year?

We've got tickets for Green Man! It's my first festival and I'm a bit apprehensive about entertaining the boys and keeping things clean but I'll try to chill out! We love, love, love Stornoway (and I may have told Brian this when I went to see them for my hen do    ) and can't wait to see them again!

I'll be at the Just So Festival with the whole crew (+ 2 of my other online friends with 3 kids each - it will be pandaemonium!)

Against my better judgement, we are going to CarFest. I am thinking of trying persuade DH that we should go to Cambridge too...

I was so so close to going to Just So this year, and I know a few people who are going. But it was just looking too expensive in the end. I don't think DP would enjoy it much, but one of my close mummy-friends is very keen too so we may go together next year without the menfolk!

Can't wait to hear all about it KG!

Just looking into planning our festival trip, and find it is one where you park in a car park and then lug everything to the campsite. :( Last time we did that (Beautiful Days with TF!) it nearly broke us. It definitely broke the tent bag.

So, I've put in a request to borrow a lighter, smaller tent from my folks, and am looking into hiring a wagon to cart the kids around in. Has anyone else done this? I reckon we could buy one for the same price as hiring one for 3 days, but then we would have to get it in the car. Ideas?

CC I saw loads of people at Glasto pushing wheelbarrows or pulling carts filled with bags/tents/kids.
