I have made it with raspberries too but it's better with rhubarb. Made two last fortnight as the neighbour was getting rid of lots of rhubarb... Not sure my A grade O-level in Home Economics is up to a bake off though!

Is anyone making a note of dates when people are available to decide on a date? (hides in a corner as have lots on at the moment....)

I may try and make this one, have been wanting to come for a while but they have always clashed with something else.

I am available any Mon, Tues and Wed in the Summer Hols apart from w/c 13/08 as we are on our jollies.

DH's birthday that weekend so I'll need to check I'm allowed out! Not sure what we've got planned yet. I'm Co Durham so would like the meetup somewhere in N Yorkshire preferably, I'll be 34 weeks and with my short legs will probably be touching the steering wheel with my tummy by that point.

Depending on where you guys meet i may join you. (There has been a lot of mention of cake which i heartily approve of) Its mine and Dp's plan to try out the new places that are withing 1.5hourish drive of Bolton. Yorkshire Sculpture Park is on our list!

Not sure if Ceecee has looked at this but I guess she or Lkb2001 are the most northern. Who is the most southern??? And Lin are you free?

I'm guessing Leeds is the most central? Or maybe Harrogate which works out roughly central for Sheffield and Darlington people. Or York is actually in the middle exactly at 56 miles for both ways. Either way as we're all spread out about 100miles it's tricky. I guess this is why our last attempt got ditched....

Any suggestions folks? I've got it firmly in my diary so my pesky children better not go and get ill like they normally do for special events!

On the preceding weekend, we are all the way down in Bristol. As things currently stand, we may or may not be going on from there to my parents. However, they are being a bit wimpy and not committing to having us - there has to be some checking of dates done first - apparently.

Anyway - we may be coming home on the Sunday night, in which case, we'll find you all on the Monday. If we are to go on, then we won't make it.

Sorry to be super-vague. I should know more end of next week......

Good options may be:
Valley Gardens, Harrogate - cheap but poss v busy if its a nice day.
Harlow Carr - not quite so cheap. may still be busy.
Harewood - very not cheap - and also busy

Btw - You more northerly types - I am camping near Osmotherly the week before this. If anyone fancies a meet-up there? Thorp Perrow or somewhere else nearby? Angel? LB2K+1? Ceecee?
