Yorkshire summer holiday meet

Come on people, it's been AGES - last meet I was still pregnant and by the time we've organised ourselves she'll almost certainly be eating

So how about a meet during the holidays? I'll start the ball rolling with dates - most of our usual activities are off over the summer, so any day of the week is fine, although prefer not Friday.

w/c 23rd July - yes
w/c 30th July - yes
w/c 6th August - no
w/c 13th August - yes
w/c 20th August - yes (excep fri)
w/c 27th August - yes

i just came to start a thread to see if anyone was up for a summer blw picnic...spooky

we're not going away over the summer but i am working.

b has swimming lessons w/b 23rd & 30th so i'd be not be able to set off untill 10.30 or would have to get someone to collect him and look after him for the day

As usual I'm only available on Mondays but come September I'll be on maternity leave. Woo hoo!

I could be there. No concrete plans for holidays as we're off on hol before term breaks up. Depends on visits to parents/sisters etc. But really would like to get together again if only for some more of Lin's rhubarb cake!

How about a monday then to fit in with LB2001?

Would be fab to have a meet, however I work Mon, Tue, Wed so if the majority are for the beginning of the week no probs, go and enjoy.

As I'm now a lady of leisure, I can do pretty much any day except Fridays.

Away w/c 6 Aug.
W/c 23rd July is Stompy's last week at preschool so I'd rather not take her out any of those days, so that would limit me to Wed/Thurs that week.
Various relatives threatening visits throughout August, but no dates confirmed yet, so will just need to take my chances.

OK, I'm nowhere near Yorkshire, I shouldn't even be reading this thread but.....

Rhubarb cake recipe(s) please!

I use the Riverford rhubarb and cinnamon cake recipe here: http://mixmashandmunch.blogspot.co.uk/2 ... rning.html except I use ground ginger instead of cinnamon (because frankly who wouldn't, nothing beats rhubarb and ginger). It's gorgeous warm or cold with lashings of cream. More pudding than cake really.

ETA: I noticed she has different timing from Riverford, the original recipe says 75 minutes at 180C. I think my hot oven needed only slightly less than that.
