Am I cooking the right food?
DINNER TIME At this age, your baby will eat mostly modified soft table foods such as small bits of cooked chicken, pasta without spices or well-cooked, unsalted vegetable bits. But keep baby cereal on his menu to ensure that he gets enough B vitamins and iron. Introducing your baby to foods with different textures now will help him learn to try a variety of foods. The amount a toddler eats varies from meal to meal and day to day. It's natural to be concerned that he's getting enough to eat, but don't worry unnecessarily. Your baby actually needs less food than you might think - roughly 1000 to 1200 calories each day. That's not a lot when you consider he gets 300 to 500 of those calories (about 16 to 24 ounces) in whole milk alone. Your baby will get plenty if you offer three meals a day, along with three sit-down snacks such as half a roll or toast with melted and cooled cheese or an unsalted cracker with a little bit of banana.
Apart from the fact that this is about as much as Cheeky eats in a week, bleugh to what she 'should' be offered. Without spices and baby cereal?
