Anyone in or near Brighton want to meet up?

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

Anyone in or near Brighton want to meet up?

We're just starting BLW and I'd love to find other(s) nearby who could get together and share experiences and insights. Am happy to meet in Brighton or Lewes (we live in Rottingdean).

Laura, seems I'm following you round the forum!

Lets see if any of the other Southcoasters drop in now. We had some tentative plans to meet up this coming Tuesday. Anyone still up for it?

Great - where is the plan to meet on Tuesday? I have a lunch plan already, but potentially could squeeze in more than one thing. If not that, then I'd love to meet up with people at some other time

TBH Brighton is just a bit of a nightmare to get to from here - last time it took me 1.5 hours because of traffic, and 2 hours back. Ok for me but the little man wasn't too happy :cry So really depends where you want to meet up.

I know, traveling with the baby isn't ideal - we would have the same problem coming to Chichester (lovely as it is). I wondered if there was anyone else really close-by, just to make a small get-together that would be low-hassle. Though I could aim for a monthly longer trip for the southern group - a nice train ride? Or just correspondence with naptime...

Hi atkinslea,
I'm in Shoreham so just down the road from Brighton and would be quite happy to meet up for a chatter about BLW and babies generally!

Loula - you are the closest BLW people I have found yet! I'd like to come, but am working every day except Wednesday so i understand if that makes it a bit restrictive!

I can do Wednedays, and it seems like we have a nice group of people gathering who could meet - perhaps in Brighton?

How about Wed. Dec. 19th? Does that work for people who have replied?

Sophie starts nursery next week and is going to be in for tues and weds, so 19th isn't any good for me :(
But if there's another time that's good I could do that, or meet up 1-on-1? Worthing and brighton are both easy for me to get to.

Maybe we should just name a time and date, and whoever can come can be there?

Or two?

I'd propose Wed. 19th Dec. or Thursday, 20th December. If people say which they can make, we can go with the one most can do. Say at noon or so? There's a nice pub called The Open House which has parking (unrestricted), is near the London Road train station (and not so far from the central Brighton one), and there's a fair amount of space for babies/prams. Not sure about a BLW menu, though I got the smoked salmon salad there and gave Cassy some of the potatoes. And we can bring our own snacks as well.

If people can say who can come and which days, then we can set a date!

I know the Open House, they do lovely Sunday roasts. They've been very accommodating the last few times we've been and done some veg, not cooked in salt, especially for Alfie. I think they gave it to us free too, though don't count me on that. Haven't been there during the week, but am sure they'll be something for the little ones to eat.

Don't remember them having high chairs though.

I can do either days, though would prefer Wednesday 19th.
