Midlanders 2016

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

I don't mind. Both Canon Hill and St Nicks I. Warwick were nice and not too bad for us to get to or happy to try somewhere new.

Do it EF! Get a flight to Birmingham Airport and we can meet there for a coffee while the kids watch the planes :)

I don't mind - the wildlife centre sounds fun. Being lazy, St Nicholas' Park in Warwick is central-ish for everyone, although is it actually easier for you to get to Birmingham Kc? We did Warwick last time so maybe Birmingham this time? Or is there anywhere nearer you that you'd like to suggest Kc, seeing as you have the furthest to travel? There's also the War Memorial Park in Coventry or Jephson Park in Leamington, but maybe they can wait for other years!

They're both about the same time tbh.

Unless ph knows anywhere north side of Birmingham I'm happy with the wildlife park.

North Birmingham - Sutton Park? It's not fantastic.

I guess Cannock Chase is too far? They have a Stick Man trail at the moment which is fun. Any good NT places Warwickshire way?

Jephson park is about the same distance again so happy to do that if we want to include Marron. Not that were deliberately excluding you if we pick somewhere else you understand.

Are you serious Marrow? Would you and Courgette come? If so, let's totally do Jephson Gardens...not very exciting for Lily as it's on her doorstep :D but if it means we get another blw-er along then it gets my vote!!!

This is completely mad! But I've just looked up the train times and there are rail replacement buses on 10th August, which doesn't fill me with joy.

Maybe next year? Especially if you choose a date far enough in advance that I can buy cheap train tickets!

Yep, it won't happen for me this year either.. but next year? Maybe next year if we haven't set up the BLW commune yet, we should plan a weekend version instead: pick a place that's as central as possible, get a self-catering house and all spend the weekend together.

Did we reach any consensus on this? Think we decided Wednesday 10th August...shall we say Cannon Hill Park wildlife bit? We can probably get there for about 10.30ish (and the offer of a lift still stands Lily, unless the lure of trains and buses is too much for Iz to resist!).

If we're all still here, we'll aim for Jephson Gardens next year with plenty of notice so Marrow and Courgette can come, possibly with a flying visit from EF and girls, and maybe with a camping/self-catering theme!
