Central Scotland summer meet anyone?

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

I *hate* lugging a pram about so the thought of getting it on a train doesn't appeal. I much prefer the sling but WB prefers the pram. Very annoying. To be fair she's been better in it this last week or two so I'll chance the sling and keep my fingers crossed she's happy in it!

Pic nic sounds good to me.

I'll need to be a maybe. I offered to look after neighbours wee boy ages ago should she needs me if she went into labour. She just texted this morning to say she's been having pains. So I may be babysitting tomorrow!

Gaaaaahhhh, my car just gave up in the heat. :( not going to make it I'm afraid. Don't ever own a 10 year old Renault. Nothing but problems. Without a car (it's in the garage) means I'm going to have to duck out I'm afraid. Really sorry. Have fun in the sun!

Oh no!

Does that just leave you and I Splash? Want a picnic closer to home then? I have the car or you could come to L.

I think it does MJ. I have the car too so I can come to Linlithgow since it's a nice wee place with lots to do. Saves you worrying about the travel too. Where will we meet?

What about at the playpark behind the health centre and then we could go along to the Peel for a picnic and a run around? I was there today (with a sleeping baby and a good book) and it was lovely.

What time are you guys meeting? I could do Linlithgow too if I don't hear from my neighbour tomorrow morning.

Though milky joe, I only know the play park next to the loch so you'll have to text me directions!

Or, just thinking, there's Beecraigs. Superb play areas and plenty of grass/picnic tables.

Just google mapped the health centre and that's the same park I was thinking of. Beecraigs is good too. No idea what it's like in the summer hols though - we usually avoid it unless it's a Monday as it can get mobbed.

There used to be a tiny park in the Peel or has that gone now?

True. Beecraigs can be busy - which is why I normally only go at 9am :D

Yes, there's still the other wee park at the Peel. The one behind the health centre was recently refurbished and is great although it can get very busy too.

I don't mind either to be honest. It came sometimes be difficult to keep an eye on the little ones at beecraigs especially when it's busy. It's no good for buggies but I could use the carrier. A sleeps better in the buggy these days. Although the park at the loch can get busy, I think it's probably best as we can always go a walk or sit on grass instead.

Anyway, sorry I think I've talked myself round to deciding on Linlithgow. Meet at the park at 11am? Any time suits me so if a different time suits you better let me know.

Thought I should update you all on our mini meet today. We met at Linlithgow and we had a lovely day with Milky Joe and her two gorgeous girls. The picnic was definitely the winner. At one point R and SG were hand in hand as we went a little walk, strangers were even commenting on how cute they were :D .

They played lots in the park but I think the sun took it out of them. R was fast asleep in the car on the way home.

Thanks for meeting us MJ!
