Central Scotland summer meet anyone?

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

Ok we will keep it the 25th.

I'm not sure if I will have the car. Would everyone be ok with Edinburgh? Was thinking we could have a picnic in the gardens? We can all take a few toys and things to amuse the older ones. Any plan B ideas if the sun's not out?

Is that easy to get to from the gardens? I don't know my way around Edinburgh too well.

Yup. Just up the mound and across the royal mile. Perhaps a 10 min walk depending on which side of the gardens you are on.

Edinburgh is fine for us. Is that the gardens right in the centre off princess st? Sounds great, and the museum is perfect for a rainy option. I think there's a play park at the far end of Princess St gardens from the train station. What time?

Have fun! Sorry I can't join you. Last time we went to the City Art Centre cafe which is just over Waverley Bridge, if you need a cup of tea. It's a bit off the main tourist route, so tends to be a bit quieter than things on the Princes St side, and handy for the station. I also read somewhere that there was going to be a lovely new family thing in the City Art Centre but can't remember the details or find anything useful on their website, but might be worth keeping an eye out for if it's miserable. But you can't really go wrong with the museum.

Thanks bm, we will look put for that. If it is miserable and we are going to museum I think I would need to meet with someone to walk me along? My sense of direction is pretty bad.

What about 11am or 11:30? R will be desperate for his picnic as always so was thinking we should meet, eat then have the fun?

Right, will just hold my hands up... I *want* to come but I'm honestly not sure how to manage getting a 6mth old and a nearly 3 yo and their stuff from my house, to the station, on the train and into Edinburgh.

I know that sounds pathetic but it ocurred to me the other day that I've only ever taken them both down to the local High St ie. a 10min walk from my house. And I don't even do that every week!

Yep. I'll be in the car so anywhere is fine. Princess St gardens is fine by me.

Milky Joe, I'm sure you'll be fine. Plan ahead. Do you have a sling or buggy or both? If you forget anything you're right on the high street so you can pick up anything you're missing!

Are we bringing a pic-nic?
