It's been a weanerlicious year....

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

It's been a weanerlicious year....

Thanks to the wonders of not going back to work i have chalked up 9 official blw meets this year (I.e. ones that have threads on here) Any advance on that? I'm disappointed it wasn't the round 10... maybe I'll decide one of the others was an official one. .. polyphonic spree? Bumping into cc in sainsburys?

Anyhow, thanks lovely weaners for making post mat-leave less lonely!

What? The Spree wasn't an official meet? Four weaners at the same gig? That sounds pretty official to me :D

<twirls>

Thread? Who needs a thread? Think it may have been on a different board...

I've managed five, if we go by calendar year from today (we met on 7th Dec last year), including one of Kate's (so I don't know if I really know Kate, but I have met her :) ). All in different locations, in three different cities, and with 12 (I think) different weaners.

Pfffttt 9 meets is nothing. We started a dispersed commune this year.

The Spree definitely counts. How could it not?

I'm not sure if I've been to any this year. Was pathetic when pg and didn't venture out of our vicinity all summer so missed a lot. Ah well, will just have to make up for it next year when I'll have a bona fide weaner again for one last whirl around the blw wheel!

One day I'll come to Pinner :D

Bc, are we counting every time we meet any kind of weaner? Cause that's gonna get tedious. ...

5999!!

Edited cause I got confused about which type of social media I was talking to bc on :oops:

are we counting every time we meet any kind of weaner?

I thought my total might be a bit paltry compared to some. I thought it might be a bit more before I started adding it up. But I've quite liked the fact that some of the meetings have been quite small, quality rather than quantity. And nice to meet people more than once as well. Have never, to my knowledge, bumped into a weaner outside an official meet, though I do know one IRL, and one who's a friend of a friend.

And a very fine one too - it dealt with an emergency evacuation, shared harvest fruits and DIY tools (along with coffee and cake), and offered beyond-the-call-of-duty babysitting.
