Central scotland long over due catch up.

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

Just been looking at trains and buses. Seem to be about the same timewise and MUCH cheaper on the train bizarrely (well, maybe it's the family railcard), so I think we could get one that gets in just before 11am. And probably wouldn't want to leave much later than 2.30pm just for getting home, so any time between those times for us.

Oh, and picnic in new playground sounds ideal. If not open, any of the other options sound great too. We like libraries, and generally running around anywhere is fine.

This!

In terms of times, I will probably drive - just because I know E will sleep in the car on the way there so any time really suits us.

Cool, we can get it at 10.35 or 11.38. Earlier is probably better. We'll be bringing packed lunch, so outdoors would be best, but, obviously weather and playpark readiness permitting.

Ok, so picnic on the South Inch it is. If rain stops play, we will decamp to the library. (if the new playpark isn't open, we can still use the old one.)

Start around 11ish.

How do we find each other? Do you want to pm me your mobile numbers?

Is that all right, Disco? We don't get in until 10.52. But I do know you both, so that would make life easier. Will PM my number as well just in case.

Shall we all meet at the train station then? That way we can decide where to go on the fly. Drivers (QBM) can park at the station for the same price as elsewhere.

That is a good idea. See you all there. I'll post a description of us nearer the time for oriel and QBM.

Hello all.

Are we still good for tomorrow? I am having a last minute wobble about driving to and in Perth so am considering the train. I imagine it'll be too awkward with the pram so *might* take the mac-pac although I'm finding it hard work to get on now (I got stuck with my arse in the air while trying unsuccessfully to stand upright the other day  :D )

Anyway, I'd have to change at Stirling so what time are folk getting the train from there?

I still haven't decided though as I have no idea how E would be without a sleep and she is unlikely to sleep in the train...

Decisions, decisions!

I'm planning on being there tomorrow. Sadly my information is that the new playpark isn't yet open. (It was scheduled to be finished at the end of August so this is disappointing.) There's still the duck pond, small existing playpark, and lots of green space. Forecast is dry with sunny intervals, if a little cold. I've PMed my mobile number to those planning to attend.

QBM, I don't know quite where you're coming from, so can't speak to the journey, but traffic in Perth itself is generally very light. For the train, the 10:07 from Stirling gets in at 10:36, and the 10:37 from Stirling gets in at 11:15.

I'll hang out at the train station from about 10:30 until we've all met.

A bit late to be jumping in here, QBM, but my experience with prams to and from Glasgow has always been absolutely fine. Just look out for the disabled sign and there's lots of space. Of course they are new trains which the Perth one may not be. So I'll shut up now! But it really ought to be OK if it's accessible for wheelchairs.

Will come dressed for possibly chilly outdoor playpark and cross fingers the rain holds off, and are going to venture without our giant landmark red double buggy, so you'll have to just look out for a pair of blond(e) three year olds and a harrassed-looking mother.

IME the perth trains are always new ones, so plenty of space for buggies.
We'll be getting the 10.07 from Stirling, so be in at 10.37.

I'll be wearing a red jacket, black skirt and hair up. I'll have a grey Maclaren buggy with a blondie boy in it and the 4 y.o in tow - he'll be in a red fleece.
See you all tomorrow! Exciting :)
