Anyone near Windermere?

We are travelling over to the Lake District over the June bank holiday weekend.

If any of ye are around that area, I would really love to meet some other weaners!

My DOH will be out rock climbing during the day, so it'd give me something else to do than hang around at my friends' B&B while they change linens and things.

Since it was late when I sent this, I just wanted to bump it up so the daytime readers would see it.

I'd also love to get recommendations on Things to Do with a fifteen month old...

We are not too far from Windermere. We are very busy that weekend though so I doubt we'd be able to make it up. I love Bowness (a small tourist destination on Windermere). DH and I got engaged there on a frozen December afternoon. There's boat rides, ice cream/tea cafes and loads of souvenir/gift shops. Google South Lakes Wild Animal Park which is meant to be a great zoo. You'll need a car to get there though.

bank holidays are different here, when is the June one for England? I will be in the area at the end of June for Woolfest, if that helps?

Oh sorry, I thought the June bank holiday was the same! I'll be there from Thursday 30 May to Tuesday 4 June.

Nixxie, I've been to Bowness, it's lovely. There's some great restaurants as well. I'll look at that zoo, since we do have a car.

If you have a car, definitely go to Tarn Hows. It's owned by the national trust and IMO is the most beautiful lake in the district. When I am there, I feel really inspired and close to nature. On hot days I have paddled or swam in this lake with glee as a child. It's not far from Windermere.
