I had missed this thread (not so much forum time now I'm back at work!), so thanks for the pm dc! I think we can manage a meet next week. Friday would suit much better as AD has a swimming lesson Thursday afternoon and would do better not to be exhausted for it! We might even make a day of it and get the train. AD would love that!

Hi, thanks for the pm discocrispo, I'd missed this too!

Friday should be fine for us if my Mom doesn't decide to come up.

I've no idea where to meet as I haven't been to Glasgow for years... (Feels slightly daunted by getting boys to Glasgow for a particular time...)

Ooh, thanks for the pm. I've also been a bit off forum due to no naps, swap and bunting panics, so had also missed this. Should be able to make next Fri. Desparately trying to remember who told me about a really nice child-friendly cafe in Glasgow but can't remember at all. Mono's good with me though - I know where it is now. We did talk about meeting in Stirling next, but I was actually thinking about this a few days ago and thinking would be lovely to see baby Disco and that you might not want to travel too far just yet. Thinking of Stirling though, does anyone have Kat's number, since she's off forum at the moment but might still like to come?

I don't know Glasgow that well anymore (apart from the shopping bits and how to get to Kelvingrove from Cadder - no 8 if you are interested!)

Can someone tell me what/where mono is?

Yay we can do Friday, and I'm sure we'll manage Glasgow by train. But I hardly know the city at all so might need some guidance!

And I thought mono was an illness...

^ thats not set in stone though.
If anyone can think of anywhere better thats good - Busmother get thinking! I'll try and engage my brain buts its running on slow at the moment ;)

I'll text Kat. Although I suspect it'll be a no as I'm sure Friday is her child free day and she's very busy by the sounds of it.

Can I be really awkward and ask to not go to mono. AD ate nothing there, she is a confirmed meat eater and is very fussy, so the vegan menu was not good for her (although I quite liked it, a bit more choice for her would be good). Sorry. Are we going for lunch? If the weathers good maybe a park for the kids to run about in? Or playground or similar?

If the weather's ok, is there anywhere central/easy/appropriate for a picnic lunch near a playground?

Or is that a bad move?

Picnic sounds nice to me but will go with the flow!

Location of the cafe is still defeating me, but thinking about it, I think they did say although they were really nice and friendly, it wasn't actually designed to be friendly and might not accommodate multiple buggies and small children. I wondered about the botanics? Does that have a cafe? Is it easy to get to from the station? Thinking of places that might be good for them to run around while we can sit and chat, and might be all right even if it decides to rain.
If anyone else is coming from Edinburgh and wants to join me on the train, let me know.

If I remember rightly the botanical is at the top of Byres Road and although walk able, it is a fair trek from the station. I think you may be able to use the clockwork orange (does anyone still call it that?) though!

I'm sure someone will be along soon to correct my geography!

Where is Glasgow Green in relation to the station? Assuming we are talking Queen St and not central?

If I get the train it'd be central. I could take the car though...
