Lewes 4th July

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

Lewes 4th July

Does anyone down south fancy joining Skip and I for a bit of a meet on 4th July? If the weathers nice then park and if it's grim then soft play. Probably meet around lunchtime (although we haven't discussed this so Skip pipe up if that's no good for you ;0)

Haha yup, all good with me. :) Will be weird to have weaners in Lewes! I grew up there and it's one of those love/hate relationships but it is a gorgeous town. I reckon Southover Grange Gardens for park weather - it's lovely and totally enclosed so lots of roaming space. There's a hole-in-the-wall cafe selling tea, cakes, sarnies and ice cream, too. 5 mins walk from the train station and usually a bit of on street parking nearby (everywhere is metered unfortunately) or if not a car park just by the station.

Soft play is Monkey Bizness and pretty good as far as soft play goes. Big climbing area for the big kids, under 2s area, toddler climbing area and seating/tables in the middle and to one side where there's a cafe. Free (limited) parking.

I might be able to come if it's at a place walking distance from train station!

I'm afraid not TF. This all initiated as me wanting to buy a wrap from a shop in Lewes that Skip goes to as part of her birthing classes so I asked her about it and if she fancied meeting up when I was down that way. The only time neither of our small people are in child care is weds afternoon and the first one we can both do is the 4th. Plus I can't really afford the train ticket and am reasonably terrified of taking all 3 to London on the train!! Perhaps we should have meets all over the country on the 4th and have some FaceTime chats going on! BLW convention day!!

Oh that would be great Ives!

Oops I have plans for Wednesday morning but could probably change them to next Wednesday. What time are you exactly planning on getting there and leaving?

I think we're aiming for about 12.30 (I've got to pick up M from nursery at 11.45) but not decided where - depends on the weather really.

TPM, did you want to do the sling shop first and then walk/drive up to the park/soft play or the other way around?

Am I going to the sling shop alone or did you want to go as well? Can't imagine you do as you're there often. What else is in the shop?

Ok cool. It will depend on what sort of day we're having. It will either be hell and I'll need to get out of the house and in the car, in which case we'll go there before we meet you all (11.30/12ish). Or it will be hell and I'll struggle to get out the door before 11.30 ;0)

Oh and I think g has hand, foot and mouth. She was tired Friday, temps fri night, sat day and last night and complaining of sore mouth today. I'm hoping she'll be better by Wednesday but we won't know till Wednesday on that one.

No worries on all counts. :) HF&M doesn't bother me, R is teething and getting over a virus anyway so I'm resigned to no sleep and grizzliness in general.

Well this morning I'd have said shed made a miraculous recovery. Drank two cups if water and ate a massive bowl of cereal and demanded to go to nursery. Ate lunch at nursery. Didn't eat tea. Said her mouth hurt and skulked about claiming she didn't feel well. I think she was tired and faking it a bit as it worked last night. I'm sure we'll be fine for Wednesday!

I probably won't be coming, dd2 has a cold and is really grouchy and not her normal self. She will want to be going down for a nap right when we'd need to leave the house for Lewes!
