Northern yorkshire people mini meet?

Postby A_W » 02 Nov 2011, 21:01

So who's up for a monday mini meet? Either thorpe perrow or a indoor play centre? Thorpe Perrow has a cafe although only 3 high chairs. It's an arboretum with a bird of prey centre too that also has meer cats/red squirrel and wallabies/rheas.

Dates could be: 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th Nov

or we could try december but snow is a possibility???

We have a pre school day that day but I'm not worried about missing for a day to catch up with some blw'ers!

I'm pretty sure that i'm available all of those mondays at the moment, and although Thorpe Perrow sounds brilliant, i'm equally happy to go to a soft play area. DD is frequently reluctant to sit in a high chair so i wouldn't be worried about that aspect.

Those dates are all Tuesdays :) . My Mum will be here on the 21 November so that week is no good for me but otherwise I'm currently free for all the others. DD1 doesn't need a highchair and DD2 can do without one so that's not an issue for us and I've got a 2 for the price of 1 ticket for Thorpe Perrow. Happy to go to soft play as well, where do you fancy? What about the Baby Gym at Spennymoor South Durham Gymnastics or is that a bit far for you AW? It's very pink but really fantastic for the kids (make sure you've done your pelvic floor exercises before you go there).

Oh yeh - didn't get much sleep last night so that's my excuse for not reading calendar right ;-)

Let's see if anyone else can make it and then set a date. Thorpe is good but up for another suggestions. I'll check how far the baby gym is. And no pelvic floor at all here so may have to come prepared!!!!

LMP - do you usually go to Spennymoor baby gym? We go virtually every week!

Well there's a recommendation! I've only been a couple of times, one of my friends was very keen on going there when she was heavily pregnant with No3 because her two slept all afternoon! It's the only place I've been to that makes DD1 hot and sweaty, normally soft plays just don't cut it in comparison.

Was just wondering how I would cope with a 3.5 yr old and 9m commando crawler at baby gym? H is funny at the moment and needed her hand held around a new indoor play centre last weekend - she freaked out at one point as she got stuck and refused to go down the slides on her own.....

It's very open if that makes sense, so you could probably stay with A in the middle where the baby toys are and still keep quite a good eye on H as she wandered around. It's not a typical soft play type scenario at all.
Actually DD quite likes to sit and play with the baby stuff so H could do that for a little while until she gets used to the idea/where she is. Would A be happy in a sling at the beginning if H wanted to explore with you at first?

Err no slings are a no-no with A. He just screams and arches his back and tries to get off me. Anyway, he's far too interested in crawling now!

Is that a no to Spennymoor then AW? Although I agree with Ceecee it's so open you can let them wander off, it's not like a typical soft play at all and the nice thing is the toys in the middle for the LOs.

Would Thorpe Perrow suit you better? I'm happy with either option, love them both.

Its been constant since the start of Oct so am truly fed up with colds, sick bugs and temperatures to say the least. One day we'll get together! X
