BLW pre-Xmas party?

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

BLW pre-Xmas party?

Postby hazELLEnut » 30 Oct 2010, 09:24

A few of us have been lamenting the fact that the last meet-up in London flopped, and so we've hit upon the idea of a BLW pre-Xmas party! The tentative date is December 8th, and I've offered to host it at my house, which is 10 minutes by bus (or 15 minutes walk) from Waterloo Station, or on a direct bus route (about 30-40 minutes) from King's Cross/Euston, and not far from a couple of tube stations.
Obviously my house couldn't fit everyone on the forum into it, but if numbers are similar to previous London meet-ups then it should be fine. Thomas would be at nursery in the morning, but he gets home about midday, so it could be any time from around 12.30 onwards.
Who would potentially be up for it?
Mother to J (November '98), J (December '01), T (February '07) and O (April '09).

I wish London was closer! Although little bean is due on the 7th so even if it was I'll hopefully be preoccupied!

The Monster, Pickle and I would LOVE to come.
So somehow it happened, my weaners are at school,
I'm still here though and people I'll try to fool,
with tales of advice giving and of wanting to know
But really here's the only place I ever want to go.

I'm in. May even risk without a pushchair if we can bus it all the way from St P.

If I can figure out trains and get cheap tix, then I'm in. Definitely bring B, probably P. Will see how much tix are. :)

Could work for me and my two if it doesn't push the numbers up too far?

That's such a lovely idea! Would love to - aren't you near Kennington? Maybe we could all help out with food in a more organised fashion rather than picnic stuff.

Good idea Skip. Although most of us like baking the sweet stuff  I'm sure we could make & bring something.

Damn and blast! 8th December is my very last day of work before my mat leave starts, so we can't come (though maybe just as well Ellielle - sounds like you will have a full house!)

Sounds like a lovely idea though, we'll be with you in spirit.

I think the bring-a-dish idea sounds good (as long as I'm allowed to buy "my" dish from Cook, yes?) would we need to organise it a bit though? Perhaps have a thread or something so that people know what's being brought and we don't end up with twenty three cakes and no sandwiches?
