Babywearing Meetup in York

Some of us get together from time to time in order to talk about the latest issue of Heat magazine, global politics, important developments in lipstick manufacture and, er, Baby-Led Weaning.

Babywearing Meetup in York

Postby Sirona » 20 Jan 2008, 11:22

As I see a lot of you also babywear, I thought I'd post the details of a babywearing meetup I'm organising in York. All comers welcome, whether you babywear or are just curious!

I've arranged to have a room at The Healing Clinic from 11am til 1pm
on Thursday 7th February for a York meet-up. It's a big room so
plenty of space and we'll have tea and coffee making facilities and
toilets with baby change etc.

The clinic is located at Club Chambers, Museum Street, York, YO1 7DN
which is very central. For those that know York well it is the
Victorian building opposite the entrance to Museum Gardens, on the
corner of Museum Street and Lendal (opposite Threshers). It is about
five minutes walk from the train station which is also where most of
the York buses stop.

Map and directions can be garnered from here:

http://www.thehealingclinic.co.uk/directions.htm

When you get into the building use the buzzer on the left marked
'Briar House Resources' so that I can let you in. The room we are in
will be through a door on the left at the end of the corridor.

I'll be passing the hat around for donations towards the room hire but
they're voluntary!

Any questions, please let me know. I hope to see you there. If you're coming along and would like my mobile number for contact just send me a private message.

Sadly i have just found this topic and Lilylou is out with her Grandma tomorrow.......Oh poo, I would have really liked that.....I got a "front back and sides" sling for Lily when she was just a few weeks old, but now she is older she screams and screams when I put her in it. I could have gleaned some Guru like advice on how to coax her back into it and free my arms and my poor old aching back, oof!

Please let me know if you do it again anytime.

We're holding another meetup at the same venue on Friday 18th of April from 11am til 1pm. It'd be great to see some BLW faces!

When are they too big for slings? Charlie is 13 months nearly and pretty heavy! Also I'm not sure he would be happy in one - he likes to be quite active although he's not walking alone yet. Is it still worth getting one? I'd be interested to try some.

I'm about 50mins from York but my in-laws are there so I go quite a bit. I'll see if I can make it.
