Bruno can sit up and so doesn't like his bumbo thing, I've had to ditch the bouncy chair as he can go head first if he leans enough so we're slowly reducing his chair options.

We have a chair for eating in (a low highchair) but I'm thinking of relaxing, when its chill time...

Does anyone have one of those beanbag things for little toddlers? I'm just wondering whether to get anything to stop him having to sit on the floor (albeit on a blanket).

Claire, I bought something called a playnest a few weeks ago and it's been a life saver. Luca can sit up more or less but will still topple over occasionally. The bumbo is no good as he always leans to the side to try and grab whatever is close by, and he hates to be lying down now and wants to sit up. With this he can sit and play and I often have it in the middle of the kitchen floor so that he feels he's in the middle of the action while I can get on with whatever I have to do.

I read somewhere that the beanbags are only good up to 3 months, I think after that they can also easily roll over and fall down?

I've gone the hi-tech route and sit Beachbaby in an oval-shaped laundry basket. Pad it out with an old duvet or a few cushions, throw in a few toys and he can sit up and play with his toys without them rolling too far away. It's good for babies who can sit up but topple over fairly quickly (the stage Beachbaby is at now). It's also very portable, you can just pick up the whole basket, baby included, and carry it to whichever room you need to be in!

We love the play nest - it needs to be quite a firm/high sided one though.
