Hummus

Oh, we're done with all that vegetable-steaming and mess, our children are cutlery-wielding, spaghetti-chomping angels... at least some of the time.

Hummus

Postby Andie123 » 23 Jun 2013, 05:58

I've offered Z homemade hummus many times in the past few months, with various things dipped in it, and he's never been particularly interested. Today we were having a picnic lunch and OH and I were tucking in to hummus and crackers. Z lent over and dipped his cracker in and ate it. I've never seen him 'dip' before. He enjoyed a couple of dips then decided it was too inefficient and proceeded to eat the hummus by the handful :D

Made me chuckle so thought I'd share.

L has only just started dipping, and has never developed a taste for hummus. Handfuls are definitely more efficient!

Handfuls of hummus are indeed great... Until Froglet decides her hair is in her eyes! :)

A did a few dips for the first time the other day..... then she decided the hummus was yummy and just stuck her hand in!

Hummus by the handful still counts as better table manners than Squirmy sticking her whole face in the tub - she's 3! And also a hummus addict. I remember a thread when the Chooby was small that was full of dip recipes to help babies develop the scooping action. It's a small step from dunking a breadstick to using cutlery (which will still get dropped in favour of hands for especially yummy foods).
