is there such a thing as too much cinnamon?

Oh, we're done with all that vegetable-steaming and mess, our children are cutlery-wielding, spaghetti-chomping angels... at least some of the time.

Ooh, I want I want I want!

Problem with running water here is that it tends to come out of the tap boiling hot - only the first few seconds are cold, hence putting it in a cup, which doesn't seem to work anyway. Hmmm.

I tried this tonight, it was Yum! Would never have thought to try it so thanks for the tip! I do like cinnamon, esp in porridge with mashed banana and crumbled biscuit!

Me too! Just a quick (relevant) question? Is it ok to eat out of date spices and herbs? We have had ours for three years (some of them) and I'm pretty sure they're past their best before date!

It's fine, but they lose their potency (esp. dried herbs); you might find you need to use more to get the same seasoning effect. Rub a bit between your fingers and smell them -- if they don't smell like they should or like of much of anything, then there's really no point using them.

I put cinnamon in my spaghetti bolognaise. Don't tell DH though, he hates cinnamon.

Wahh - I gave Miss I cinnamon sprinkled on her weeties yesterday. She loved it, only ate a few extra teaspoons but was so excited about her normally boring cereal. However she did go red and blotchy around her mouth - apparently not uncommon - she's only 9 1/2 months, but they don't stay intolerant forever. Do you think I should keep offering it to her or just wait a while? :?

DD2 used to go red and blotchy around her mouth when she was under 1 too!! I've never heard of it from anyone else! I stopped giving it to her till she was about 18 months, and haven't noticed it yet but I only give her a little bit on her rice cake sometimes.
