Well who'd have thought...........

Oh, we're done with all that vegetable-steaming and mess, our children are cutlery-wielding, spaghetti-chomping angels... at least some of the time.

Well who'd have thought...........

I made a lovely chicken stew this evening with lentils, sweet potato, peppers, white wine...served with rice. I put the Pickle's portion on a small plate to cool, put her suction bowl and cutlery on the table, and DH & I sat down to eat with her.

Noooo, no no that wasn't right, cue screams. :(

That is until she sat in Daddy's chair, with Daddy's plate, with Daddy's cutlery and proceeded to attack his chicken thigh herself. She managed to skewer large bits of meat from the bone and shovel it in. I've never seen her eat this much meat and accompany it with lots of 'mmmm' noises. It was hysterical and I was completely surprised, I only wish I'd thought to get the camera out in time.

Has she decided she is too old for children's cutlery?? Too old for her high chair?? Doesn't need her food cut up??

Who knows ... but I think I'll be serving her chicken on the bone in the future!!

It was a bit like a medieval banquet - after months of quite tidy mealtimes there was bits of chicken and rice etc everywhere, but I just sat there with a big grin. :D
