Kleintje is a bit obsessed with having babies at the moment. In her world, we "lay" babies. Today we got, "these children (herself and her teddy) are special pq they are children but they lay lots of babies. They never grow up, they just keep laying all kinds of babies and they love them!"
Two minutes later: "Oh, and also in this country we don't have any monkeys. Well, we lay baby monkeys, but we don't like grown-up monkeys."
This is this first I've heard of an aversion to adult monkeys.

My favourite one was the other day: "In my country, we just keep having babies. We have more and more and more babies. And then, at the end, you have one big GIANT baby and then you die."

GHJ, if A is in school, I'd love to see the teacher's face when he reads that!

I have a fondness for mustard, and I'll often ask Kleintje to get one out for me. So, I might say, Please get the one with the little balls (wholegrain) or Please get the bright yellow mustard (English). She almost always asks, "Mama, is this the mustard I like?" No, darling, you like custard.
