Uncensored Facebook (August)

I have done far too much parenting today, given that I'm off sick. Just need to put C in bed, then go join DH in ours.

Hope you feel better soon Marrow :(

I'm excited as have just booked a weekend at centreparcs at the end of August. We love it there but had written off ever going again due to the exorbitant out of term time prices. I bought some shares in the company I work for a few years ago when I worked FT and could afford to do such things and I've just found out my shares matured at a very nice profit. I'm normally very sensible about money but figured life's short and this will be our last holiday before the Babs starts school. Soo excited and only 2 weeks to wait!

wow 5! mine is 4 next week and I can't believe it. I can still picture myself stood outside the hospital with her in the car seat waiting for MrCG to bring the car round. I was terrified and couldn't believe they would let me home with a baby I had no clue how to care for!

Blink of an eye, isn't it? She was so small and sweet and amazing in the photos and we had no idea then what a thoughtful, articulate, amazing, fun person she would turn into. We are so proud of her! And that's me off again! Waaaaaah.

Awwww, congrats qbm and how exciting, cg!

Get better soon Marrow. Parenting sucks when you are sick.

I just had a business idea today that I am seriously considering. I feel a bit sick with nerves but I just can't stop thinking about it!

That sounds very exciting jw! Can you spill the beans or is it a secret?

I'm feeling very emotional. We've co-slept for at least the last year and prior to that she was in a bedside cot. Yesterday we finally went out and bought her her own bed. She was so thrilled. I said she didn't have to sleep in it until she felt ready to, to which she said she was ready now. I said that when she wakes in the morning she should come in for a cuddle and she said she won't because she doesn't need to. I know that's all likely to change when she wakes at 5am and realises she's alone but right now the fact that she's really growing up and demonstrating a need for independence is really tugging at my emotions . I'm so proud of her but so sad that my little baby is all but gone now.

(((CG))) it's ok to feel sad. You're probably right though and she'll be in first thing for a cuddle!

Sounds intriguing jw...!

Supposed to be going out with old friends in an hour and E has just vomited all over the sofa. Gutted! And obviously want to be here for her but was so looking forward to the night out. :(

That sucks, qbm. How is she doing now?

I need a haircut. I need haircut ideas. I thought Pinterest was my friend, but it's given me too many options.

Oh no, qbm, sorry you missed your night out (and I hope E is feeling better).

EF, I have the opposite problem as you - I need a haircut but I have too few options! All the hairstyles I like won't work with my hair (or so my hairdresser always tells me). Also, Pinterest is a fickle friend.

Well, I made it on my night out! She'd been at the Fringe with OH who'd got her an enormous crepe filled with banana, chocolate spread and peanut butter. He then proceded to cycle her along a bumpy canal path.

In less than an hour I'd washed the sick out of her hair and she was happily bouncing on the trampoline. Mad dash to the train station for me and all was well!

EF, what are you thinking? I'm very tempted by a subtle nape undercut but I really don't want any extra work (like when I cut my hair shirt - it's only now the right length for me).
