Stupid or dangerous things you've done..

Postby mamapup » 04 Jun 2016, 22:32

Talking with MrC, my brother and his wife this evening. We were discussing some of the stupidest or most dangerous things we've ever done with animals. Anyone else got any similar to this list?

Swimming with piranhas (MrC and me, separately)
Swimming where crocodiles are known to be (MrC)
Stroking a crocodile(bro and sil)
Sleeping surrounded by scorpions (bro and sil)
Being with a guide who harassed a rhino until it charged you (MrC and me together)
Big snake around neck (MrC and bro)
Sleeping in tents and having lions walk past at night (MrC)

Come on people, who else has done crazy shit?

We poked sticks at snapping turtles and threw rocks at bees' nests a lot as kids, but this stuff is next-level.

I once mocked a cat. It gave me a pretty killer glare.

Went to look at wild sea lions with someone who didn't want to respect their space as advised, we all got chased!

What do wild sealions do when one invades their space?

And that reminds me, we also accidentally swam with jellyfish. Ow.
Oh and I've been swimming with (reef) sharks, which was really scary even though it didn't need to be.

I tipped a scorpion out of my show once. I don't think I've done much dangerous tbh. I've been diving through jellyfish and had a barracuda charge past me once (it was focussed on another barracuda not me luckily)

I've swum with piranhas. At the time, they told us they don't like the splashing and would keep away. Later on we went fishing, and were told to splash the end of our fishing rods in the water to attract the piranhas. But apparently the biggest risk is having your toes bitten off by the ones you've caught thrashing around in the bottom of the boat.
