Uncensored Facebook - May

Whatever you like, really, knock yourself out... I'm not the boss of you.

StJ I think there's something about having a girl when your older one(s) are boys - people feel impelled to give you pink floral frilly stuff, because you won't have it already.

Oh yes, we were given sooo much pink stuff for A. I'm not opposed to a little pink here and there, but nobody needs an entire wardrobe of it. Mixed in with all the hand-me-downs from L it hasn't been too bad. And totally agree on the tutu. I have a no skirts/dresses policy until she can walk well, and after that they'll only be occasional unless she is requesting to wear them.

Normally I'm pretty ruthless about sending unwanted stuff straight to the thrift store, but right now it feels like so much stuff I just can't handle it. JW's circus dog idea cheers me up, though!

Last night they asked me if I needed anything so I said we needed a baby bath, and then DH's aunt sent me a link to a pink flowery one. Whhhyyy?! It's a bathtub, just get me the most basic one. I want it to hold water is all!

Hmmm, I've only had girls and still got a shittonne of pink frilly crap, despite being quite vocal about not wanting to dress girls in pink. Now, if I had a third child and it was a boy...

Along those lines: StJ, would either of your boys wear it? Do you have a costume box?

Haha, it's tiny! It's 0-3mo size. But I'm appreciating the mental image of the Feral Kid attempting to squeeze in...

Maybe there is a doll or a teddy bear in the house who would like to wear it?

DH suggested we put it on her at my cousin's wedding, where it will be seen and appreciated by all interested parties, and then bury it and never speak of it again.

There will be photographic evidence.

I'd destroy it and blame it on a moose or bear or something.

"You won't believe this, Auntie, but a beaver came through the house and drowned it in maple syrup!"

Nothing like collaborative effort for constructing a really watertight lie, right?

sorry to burst your bubble StJ, but I don't think you can get away with a beaver drowning it in maple syrup. That's just crazy. I'd say he needed it for his ice hockey uniform.

:D :D :D

And thanks qbm - yes, the devil child did get a bit better eventually....I gave up on trying to get them out of the house, chucked them in the bath for an hour and gave them lunch, by which time squidge/devil child was happy to get out of the house. He's getting back to himself a bit more now, thankfully.

I'm surprised my nipples haven't started bleeding yet after the number of times I've been bitten in the past couple days. A has a cold and won't let me anywhere near her nose with a snot sticker, so she's adopted this really pathetic nursing pattern: gulp milk, break away to gasp for air, chomp back on for another gulp or two, gasp for air again... continue until she gets so fed up that she decides to be done and climb off my lap. This is resulting in way more air swallowed than usual, quite a beating for my nipples, and a rather difficult time getting her to settle for sleep. Please go away cold!
