Can someone recommend a tv show

Whatever you like, really, knock yourself out... I'm not the boss of you.

Can someone recommend a tv show

Postby Gizmo » 15 Nov 2012, 12:45

Just that really. I sew in the evenings and like something on in the background to watch and I've run out of things to watch.

I liked Californication, Desperate Housewives, Dexter, Grey's Anatomy - All of these have loads of series as well which was great.

I don't like period dramas and I'm not into comedy type shows like How I Met Your Mother.

I watch online so anything is available.

Any ideas? Thank in advance.

The West Wing, The Newsroom, The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The West Wing... bit of a Sorkin fan here :)
DH and I get hooked on Masterchef Australia which is on Watch. Oh, desperately trying to remember the name of a series we watched earlier this year, aboutlawyerswhatwasitcalled-SUITS, thank you very much Google, I really enjoyed that. And of course, there's always The West Wing :D

Thanks. Think I'll be giving The West Wing a whirl first then ;)
Yeah that's what I do, stream stuff from TV-Links.eu, theres so much on there, maybe too much, that's why I have trouble finding something.
I started watching Prison Break a couple of years ago but couldn't get into it. For prison type dramas I watched Oz, be warned though it is very brutal (really not joking about this), but very well done imo.
Oh The Wire is excellent if you guys are ever stuck.

Oooo just looked The West Wing has 7 series! Excellent that should keep me busy for a while :)

I liked Lost too, I was so annoyed at the last series. Lol Jeez I'm sounding like a proper tv addict! I had forgot about Entourage, I watched the first series of that and thought it was good, will look up the rest after the West Wing.

The Mentallist (US crime thing - but with a great twist)

Jericho - post nuclear bombs giong off - sounds depressing but is brilliant - all about the people in it, how they survive etc

Revenge - a girl's father is accused of a crime he didn't commit and years later she returns to wreak her revenge on the people that destroyed him

Ringer - identical twin takes over other twin's identoty to hide from baddy who wants to stop her testifying - again, sounds lame but I loved it!

Revolution - 15 years ago all the electrical things in the world stop working - now they are trying to work out why and it is all about the aftermath etc.

I sound like a right telly addict!!!

I've just finished rewatching all of Six Feet Under. It's excellent.

Oh we love series. Mostly because we don't get English tv, so we buy series and watch our way through them. (doesn't take long, one or two episodes a night!!)

So...
west wing (oh yes it is brilliant)
Private practise (not too bad, was a spin off of greys anatomy)
lie to me
NCIS (criminal investigation, but naval and way less gory than CSI, much better story lines as well)
NCIS Los Angeles
Mentalist
The Good Wife

(We have newsroom but haven't watched it yet though)

Homeland!!! I'm hooked on that at the moment! Comedy wise I quite like New Girl...Or if you can get these-The Thick of it and Twenty Twelve for some dry British humour...
Oh and The Killing!

Another Homeland fan here. Used to love 24 as well, Kiefer Sutherland over DT any day! The Hour is brilliant, second series just started last night. Any Human Heart was also good. How about Boardwalk Empire which is set in the 1920s- or is that too period for you?

House. I'm not normally into medical dramas but I love it.

And disturbingly, Hugh Laurie has started to look quite sexy....

Oh I love Nurse Jackie, they've stopped showing it on BBC sadly and we don't have Sky...

Brothers and Sisters is another one that I miss!
