Have you seen "Bringing up baby"? Depending on the style of parenting your MIL chose way back when, it could also be too liberal for her. Your LO is allowed to do his own thing rather than be a sheep like babies in olden days so it could really rub her up the wrong. All depends on age I guess :D

If I ever marry again  I will go for someone without mother :D

I know they mean well, but they can overdo it! I got told to had to use terry nappies and when I commented on how I am already completely overwhelmed with household, two kids etc (I do EVERYTHING concerning house and kids) and dont want the extra washing as disposable ones make my life just that little bit easier, I got a lecture on how I damage the environment and waste DH's hard earned cash.

BLW got tuted from both sides as well .... I know what oy mean about DH being overweight, mine isnt (anymore) as I changed his diet and stopped him eating all that pre-packed c*** and all the pies (and introduced him to other veg than carrots and peas as well)

do you know i've always suspected that one of the main reasons that mils tut about blw is that they are less involved... i can kind of understand that but my mum was so proud when she saw dd at 6 months munch on a pork chop that i think those feelings melted away. [/u]

Aw. I kinda feel sad for MIL's now. My MIL had 6 boys so desperately wants a granddaughter (even bought girls stuff and never replaced it for boys stuff - guess she can't be bothered!!) And I know she must feel sad she'll never be the brides mother bit, help her through childbirth etc. Why do I feel guilty?

I think they could handle it a bit better, being the parent...I hope I never become like this when I'm older.
