LO's muddy wellies in a carrier

How do you stop LO's muddy wellies wiping mud all over your trousers?

We've got a manduca buckle carrier. I usually carry Moo on the front as on our dog walks he's up and down all the time (and I'm too lazy to really sort the carrier out for back carries!). I end up with muddy patches at the top of my legs.

I was thinking of getting some cheap waterproof trousers and cutting them to make a kind of panel, like a skirt really, to cover the top of my legs/ possibly bum too so I can sit down. Will probably look quite odd but hoping it will blend in with my coat. Or any other great suggestions out there?!

I always just used to take wellies off when carrying, bit of a faff, but preferable to being covered in mud!

yeah I just take them off too though if they've done with getting muddy and done with walking we're probably headed for home so not likely to have cold feet for long

I definitely take them off...and sometimes his trousers too if they are very muddy. Not so worried about my clothes, it's my lovely wraps and carriers I don't want dirty! A's always warm enough as he's snuggled in to me, and it makes it much easier to put him into bed for a nap if he falls asleep on me on the way home.

OK, seems I'm just being daft keeping the wellies on! I guess in a few months M will probably be able to walk for longer (well he could now but doesn't want to!) and won't be wanting to go up and down so often. In the meantime I'm going to go with my uber cool waterproof pants design!

SM - yes my carrier is a bit of a state, definitely need to wash it. And I wouldn't be too bothered about my clothes except I don't have half as many as Moo and don't want to do so much washing!

Thanks all :)
