Camping when heavily pregnant - any tips?!

Postby monkeydo » 06 May 2014, 21:08

Title says it all really!

We‘re going camping in 3 weeks for 3 nights, I‘ll be 31 weeks.

I like to think I‘m pretty "hardy" and we‘re seasoned campers but I‘m still a bit apprehensive.

Any advice for BTDTs?

I found I was physically comfortable but much more susceptible to waking if other people made any noise - could you take ear plugs?

I discovered when camping at 8 months pregnant that I could use a travel potette  not sure that's a tip though, maybe more of a good to know in an emergency!

I took a few extra pillows with me just to make sure I could get comfortable ish at night.

what GBH said about the pillows, I think we might've taken just a duvet instead of sleeping bags too. Didn't have a travel pottete when I camped heavily pregers but have used the potty since... :mona

I went at about 8 months and took an extra duvet to fold up underneath me as well as extra pillows for comfort when sleeping. I wasn't much help pitching the tent, so DH had to do it on his own!

Take your hospital notes!!! And a comfy camping chair (although I'm sure you'll already have one if your well experienced campers)

Yeah, the potette didn't occur to me as I don't see it as just a when-pregnant thing
