We now have the tent and all the main essentials however I was wondering what little luxuries or essentials you feel you can't do without while camping (apart from wine  )?

Cork screw!
Cafetiere (sainsbo's do a nice metal one)
Comfy chairs
Decent light so that you can still do stuff once it gets dark

Do you have a light that you would recommend? We do not have an electric cable yet, that will be a treat for next year!

Last year we bought some inflatable seats. OMG, they were fantastic! Great for pulling outside and looking at the stars. :D

I'm afraid we are still looking for the perfect one... We have a wind up lantern which is handy but the light isn't bright. We have those £1 push lights from the supermarket for reading with in bed and we have a maglight torch for night time loo trips, i really need to ask friends what they had last year when we camped together, theirs was fab.

Lots of friends who camp, swear by the Ikea solar powered lights but I have no personal experience of how long they last. We have a wind up torch for loo runs!

Oooh they look fab Morlyte! Do they fold up quite small?

We're still finding our feet with all this camping business so I don't know if I'm qualified to respond, but I would say chucking a disposable barbeque in the back of the car was the best decision we made, it meant that on our last morning when we had to be out early and had already washed and packed up the cooking gear, we got up and lit the BBQ straight away, and had hotdogs for breakfast :D. It was amazing, one of the best meals of my life (I'm easily pleased) ;)

We have 2 seats and 2 foot rests and they fold up smaller than a single air bed. :D I like the throwaway BBQ idea, might steal that.

Have you got a link to an ebay listing morlyte? Your previous link just came up with a picture and I don't know what to search for...

Hereis the ebay link but we bought them from The Range last year and they definitely did not cost that much for 2, let alone one!

Oh cool thanks, I'll keep an eye out for them this year. I haven't been to the Range for ages. I can't wait for the good weather to come, I'm desperate to get camping again :D

Yes, me too. We've booked in for two trips so far this year but a bit stuck on where else to go!

We‘ve got some remote control battery lit wax candles. Sounds mental, they were a Christmas present from my gran and I was a bit :? , but actually they‘re great for camping, I can have a candle lit tent without the fire risk and I can turn them off without getting out of bed :D

Like these (but not coloured) http://www.amazon.co.uk/TRIXES-Battery- ... B00C0QYNG4

I have solar powered fairy lights that we wrap around the tent pole (bell tent). What I really want though is a chandelier like this.
