Hole in tent

We put our tent up in the garden to check it out before camp at the beginning of August, and found a small hole in the canvas. Dh has been told covering it with gaffa tape will do the job but I just thought I'd ask if there is a more 'proper' way of fixing it?!

I think our tent came with a little kit to fix any holes. Probably just a matching bit of canvas with some glue, kind of like a puncture repair kit. Basically I'd say it's much the same as using gaffa tape but less noticeable because it's the same colour! Not needed it yet though, so can't comment on effectiveness.

I was thinking gaffer from your thread title....and a little on the inside too.

Is it a nylon tent? If so then gaffa tape or a tent repair patch.

If it's a poly cotton tent then there are places which will repair them (don't ask how I know this  )

No, not the bell tent! It's my old Outwell which I want to sell.

I would gaffer tape both sides, it worked really well on our old tent.
