Lessons Learnt

Campers, festi-heads, hikers, even spelunkers... all welcome here. No fresh air activity too hearty, no fold-up product too desirable.

Lessons Learnt

1. It is important to remember to take night time pull ups for your preschooler. Scrubbing sleeping mats and handwashing sleeping bags is not a fun way to start the day.
2. Getting the kids to the beach by yourself is significantly quicker and easier that with DH. Camping two miles from the beach (rather than driving one hour from home) apparently adds more than two hours to your arrival time.
3. Eco loos really are stinky.

On the plus side, it has finally been agreed that we can buy some form of camping stove - thank you to all other campers who busied themselves with fry ups of a morning!

And finally, thank goodness for sewn in groundsheets. Although I quite enjoyed the sound of the mouse rustling about under the tent, I was really very thankful that he spent the night outside!

I hope the weather was nice! Sounds like you needed some sunshine to distract from some of the other challenges.
I'm sure your bed felt pretty darn good when you got back into it though.
