any campsite recs - easily got to from South London?

Campers, festi-heads, hikers, even spelunkers... all welcome here. No fresh air activity too hearty, no fold-up product too desirable.

any campsite recs - easily got to from South London?

Postby biccytoria » 10 Jun 2013, 13:38

I'm trying to convince DH that we should go camping for two nights at the end of the month, as Aidan's got an inset day on the 1st July. Does anyone have any recommendations for campsites that aren't too long a drive from South London? Anything up to 2-2.5 hrs drive. We'll be going on sat morning so don't need to worry about friday afternoon/early evening traffic.

My friends run a place called Billycan which is really lovely:

wow, RR,that looks fab!

Unfortunately we'll be going sat/sun which doesn't look like an option, plus we've got our own gear. Though the idea of having a weekend camping without having to get everything ready is very appealing - will have to remember that and maybe plan a friday afternoon off so we can do the fri/sat nights...

Looks good Fullhouse, will forward that to DH!

We just got a tent too, maybe we will see you at one of these places. We thought somewhere around Brighton or South Downs would work also.

:)

we should probably arrange a BLW camping meet up!

Looks good R but it's fully booked for the nights we want, that's what happens when you leave it to the relatively last minute, camping is obviously becoming the thing to do!
