Have just figured out that the last time I was on a horse it was 1999!

Dd very excited, "I will hold the reins like this and gallop the horse along like this". She's also under the impression that she will have a lasso!

I bought BigSis a Groupon riding lesson and she had talked of nothing else for since. I hope your dd enjoys it as much!

Very jealous. I dream of the day I can afford to have a horse again. I get too sad riding occasionally (because it makes me miss it more) so haven't ridden for about 5 years now :(

Hope you have a wonderful time!

Ahhhh, I haven't ridden for nearly two years now... the last (and also first) time was when I was on vacation with the man who is now my husband :)
That was an unforgettable holiday back then: We made a trip through France and rode on horses on the French Opal coast which was just amazing. The best thing was that he proposed to me when we were making a break on the beach :) Sooooo romantic :) He even organised the BlackLane Limousine Service to pick us up from the airport when we returned. Classic!
Ever since Emily was born though I find it very hard to find the time for such activities in which she can't participate... I would love to ride again though, really hope I will get the opportunity sometime soon. I am sure that will bring back lots of fond memories ;)

Aww. Have a great time. I used to love horse riding. Maybe I'll get to do it again when we move. I need to befriend someone with a horse first...

It was ace! :D

Dd was so good, really listened and did what she was asked to.

Only small downside is that my backside is a little stiff right now!! I fear I will be walking a bit strangely tomorrow!

It's always worse the second day. God luck on Monday.

I gave my horse away my last year of high school and rode race horses until after uni. I worked on a stud farm in a Aus (we never rode, though, too tired!) and then had a much too long drought. I trained green horses on weekends the summer after getting of with J (first trimester only) and when J was 1 I had a few lessons, but haven't ridden since. :( I would obviously love to, but can never justify the time or money.

The friend I learned to ride with was on the long list for the South African Olympic Eventing team, and has her own stable/riding school and trains horses to resell for a living. I feel not much at all like a proper equestrienne. Although, our riding teacher did once say she thought I'd out-ride my friend, but I never had the horses - always the loonies! I didn't have the nerve either, but maybe with the right horse I would have.
