New Forest?

Campers, festi-heads, hikers, even spelunkers... all welcome here. No fresh air activity too hearty, no fold-up product too desirable.

New Forest?

Any recommendations for a quiet site for us to try out camping with kids? We'll only be staying for one night so showers etc not essential and in fact the fewer 'facilities' the better really. A toilet would be sensible but other than that, just somewhere nice, quiet, attractive...

This one near Balmer Lawn & Brockenhurst:

or Holmsley on the same website - in fact any on here would be lovely.

Thanks Rosella, had seen Holmsley but not the first one you linked too. Unfortunately we are trying to go the weekend after next and most of them seemed to be booked up...

Or Sandy Balls (Te he snigger snigger)

It is a holiday park rather than twee campsite but may have spaces.

We like Hollands Wood. I think there is one called something like Ockney that doesn't have facilities so may be less busy.
So somehow it happened, my weaners are at school,
I'm still here though and people I'll try to fool,
with tales of advice giving and of wanting to know
But really here's the only place I ever want to go.

We've been to both Sandy Balls and Holmsley, and honestly wouldn't recommend either. They're both enormous and pretty loud.

There's one near Ashurst? We haven't been, but it's close to the village (i.e. walking distance to the pub...).

ETA: Nomansland is really nice. There are some lovely walks through the forest, down to a stream, etc. and plnt of ponies and donkeys around. This time of year the sow should also be out roaming with her piglets. I've never stayed at this site, but it certainly sounds quiet....
