South & West Scotland campsite suggestions please!

Looking at next year, we definitely want to book to go to Scotland. Dp does not want to go East as he won't drive over the bridge so West and South are our options!

All suggestions welcome!

Just had a look at Seaview in Oban, as linked in a previous thread but a bit worried that we would be too loud for there after reading some ukcampsite reviews.

Glen Rosa on Arran holds some of my fondest childhood memories. Just don't pitch your tent too close to the burn!
ETA this is Glen Rosa

Wow the Isle of Arran looks stunning, although this campsite is a little basic for our needs. We are a bit \O/ at going that basic with Noah so small. Off to see what else there is campsite wise on Arran.

Depends on what kind of holiday you are looking for. This one is near me (http://www.linwater.co.uk/) and is only 15 mins outside of edinburgh (zoo, festival, tattoo etc).

Actually you are only about 20/30 mins away from most things such as beaches and other touristy things.

It's a camping/caravanning site so faculties are not bad. In laws have stayed a couple of times there and say its a quiet site.

I know it's east Scotland but no bridge involved :-)

I came across this place in the south near dumfries. It has the option of camping, yurt, tipi or even bunk house.
I was hoping to get a night or two in the yurt before dp goes back to work but its booked up of course.

It does doesn't it.
I just need to say about arran - its really lovely but remember you need to factor in ferry price to your trip - I know you're on a tight budget at the moment. It'd probably cost around £100 for you all to cross with the car.

Oh, didn't think it would be that much! Maybe Arran is out of the window then. :/

We were just there a few months ago and it was £100 for a return for all of us + my mum. It is worth it, as it has everything you could want...

The wigwams at Strathfillan are nice and not too far from me! http://www.wigwamholidays.com/Strathfil ... am_Village
