Valentine's present

Oh look, it's broadly a place to talk about special occasions, party tips and to swap present ideas but let's be perfectly honest, this forum is here because I want to get excited about CHRIIIIIISTMAS from about June onwards.

Blank cheques not arrived. Fingers crossed for tomorrow am and I'll give them when we go out for dinner otherwise I'm making my own and wasting money.

Officially we're not doing anything. But children and I are making Valentine's trifles. We cut cake into heart shapes for the bottom layer, with strawberries and red jelly in individual glasses. Custard and cream on top tomorrow. But only because I have been craving trifle, so it's a justification for having a nice pudding.

I've bought DH this. And I sewed him a card.

Toothfairy, I love that!
MP, how in the world could MrC possibly forget about Valentine's Day?? It's... everywhere.

We don't do anything for VD pq our anniversary is the end of this month. Tomorrow night I'm hoping to get an hour away from Newt to go sit at a cafe and read my book. The fact that the only nearby cafe open at night is McDonald's will just add to the occasion: nothing quite as romantic as sitting on your own in a McDonald's, eh?
I must remember to keep an eye out next week for heart shaped cookie cutters. They'd be great for Kleintje's art box, and they will hopefully be reduced after tomorrow!

Heart post-it's went down really well Raktajino, with DH as well as SM lol. The blank cheques finally arrived today so he got them at lunch time and now I'm sat waiting for him to rake me out to dinner. Yes gone to pick up our babysitter lol.

He bought me chocolate, dvd and a daisy link for my nominations bracelet.

You are all far nicer than I am, as in reflection, I just got him a bag of mini Dime bars from my Ikea trip. My third Ikea trip in two weeks. He's lucky he didn't get a short wooden pencil shoved where the sun doesn't shine!
Hope you've all had a lovely day :-)

Because he's a man! Or, if that offends anyone on behalf of their wonderful valentine's remembering men, because he's MrC. I was under no illusions when I married this man. I just keep on hoping that one day, maybe one day he'll surprise me.

We took the kids to a 'Guess How Much I Love You' session at the RFH today though and they loved it (it was a bit crap, luckily my tiny kids have no sense of quality yet!).

And I'm still sat on the sofa. DH came home with babysitter, SM chucked all over her bed. KC took babysitter home again.

Waiting for takeaway now but, surprisingly enough, they're busy.

Although we don't do presents we have always done cards. I put a card on breakfast table & dh said he hadn't got me a card, he didn't think we were doing cards.

Tbh I was half expecting it as he hadnt been out anywhere all week. He did go off & make me one during the afternoon though!

Haha, this is what I've done too! DH doesn't remember any dates, not my birthday, not our anniversary, not any of his families birthdays (which makes life a bit tricky for me!)! On the plus side, he does seem to remember DD's birthday, which I suppose if he's gonna remember one thing then that should be it.

So I didn't bother with getting DH anything this year, and although he kept going on about how he should get me something, he forgot..

Also, what's the deal with presents for everyone? DD got a card and present from the PIL. I just don't get it. Maybe I'm just a scrooge.

Not a Scrooge, I only get a present and card for DH, no one else gets presents unless they find someone to get them one lol.

My DH is also rubbish at remembering dates, we've been together 15 years this year and it's only been the past few years he's remembered my birthday. He knows roughly when it is, but I write it in the calendar to remind him lol. A few years ago he did the Coast to Coast walk which meant he was away for my birthday. On the actual day my dad and I drove up to see him and his mate (and take them a dry tent as there's had got drenched) and dad couldn't believe he didn't wish me happy birthday. I wasn't fussed though, I knew he had no idea what day it was as all days had run together for him.
