Present for my sister - stuck!

Hi. Help, please! My lovely sister turns 41 on Monday. She has had a chronic gastro illness for the past three years which has led to her losing half of her body weight, so she has a PEG-J (tube into her intestine) for her prescribed liquid feed and meds and goes to hospital twice a week for potassium infusions to keep her heart on an even keel. She has been retired through ill health (devastating, as she is an Outstanding Teacher) and she has been living with the grief of losing both of our parents only three weeks' apart only a few weeks after she became ill. It has been a really hard time for her as her muscle atrophy and electrolyte imbalance makes doing anything an exhausting chore and her friends, who were great at the beginning, have mostly disappeared as I guess they got frustrated at not getting replies to text messages, etc. She can't drive more than a few miles, can't really go out for the day, can't eat (constant vomiting), can't even have a bath. Massage is painful, she doesn't wear make-up, owns countless perfumes, doesn't read. She has no hobbies, other than watching The Big Bang Theory on constant loop on DVD, and I am at a loss as to what to get her. I live about three hours' drive away, so don't see her as often as I'd like and C really tires her out. I bought her an iPad last year for her birthday as it was her 40th and it was from the three of us, but I am STUCK this year. Have got her a CD that she mentioned and a pair of earrings, but that seems quite lame. Any ideas? Anyone? Anything at all? Help!

Audio book/radio play? Crossword/puzzle of choice book? Scented candle? Digital photo frame?

I agree with audio books bit what about a voucher for some quality time just with you.

Maybe something warm and fuzzy and comfy, like a blanket, scarf, our fuzzy socks? Some nice tea?

I've suggested audiobooks to her in the past (being a self-confessed Audibleoholic) but she's always dismissed the idea as she says she can't concentrate. I bought her a heated blanket (really lovely and soft and furry) for Christmas last year - she has used it once. Am tempted to ask for it back! Same thing for the padded slippers that you can heat in the microwave. She isn't supposed to eat or drink, as what goes down inevitably comes back up, which is what knackers her potassium level. Have knitted her a beanie and snood for Christmas. They are all great suggestions, but have already given them or ruled them out... Thanks for taking the time to answer, though!
As for quality time with me, I did mention that she's my sister, right...? ;-) Kidding aside, it's a tricky one, as so much of her time is governed by hospital visits and I am restricted by having C - no grandparents to look after her. No anyone to look after her, in fact, except my other half, and he works full time. She's so tired and in so much discomfort that me visiting her is usually just an imposition, and she is uncomfortable in the car for any length of time so bringing her here is a rare occurrence too. Poor thing. I'd like to give her health back :-(

Netflix subscription for her iPad? You could buy a Google Chromecast (£30ish) so she can case whatever she's watching to the TV? Headphones so she can use it on hospital visits?

iTunes voucher?

Magazine subscription? If she can't concentrate for long, can she manage short magazine articles?

something to wear like a nice cozy cardi (what I would like right now as its cold!). Or DvD box set of a series she might enjoy?

A piece of art? If she's stuck in all the time then something lovely on the wall/shelf might be nice? A lovely image can bring a lot of joy.

Along the lines of robyn's suggestion, you could also have C make something for her. Since it is hard to visit in person, something handmade could show that you are still thinking of her even though you can't be together.

Did she like getting her nails and hair done before she got sick? A mobile beauty treatment maybe if she did?

If you think something child made might be appreciated, there are lots of artwork ideas using kids foot and hand prints that are gorgeous.
Otherwise, maybe a different tv show she might like? Sounds like she likes comedy and light hearted stuff?

What about having flowers delivered? Maybe on a regular basis, like for the next six months or something?
