quick home made gift ideas??"

Oh look, it's broadly a place to talk about special occasions, party tips and to swap present ideas but let's be perfectly honest, this forum is here because I want to get excited about CHRIIIIIISTMAS from about June onwards.

So I did that silly thing of agreeing to do 'creative' gifts with my sil. I meant imaginative, she heard 'make stuff'. I have limited craft ability, but can cook. So my wise friends, any ideas what I can do? Am doing a recipe card with jar of needed spices (like the baking thing but for Mexican food, yum) but am all out of ideas after that. Oh and they're coming next weekend...

Red onion chutney (or any chutney for that matter!)
Cinder toffee (or puff candy as I've seen it called)
Fudge
Toffee
Whack all them in a hamper with some cheese and crackers and call it a gourmet feast!

http://www.redtedart.com/2013/09/11/bat ... -can-make/ - planning on making these as they look easy.

http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/choc ... -chocolate - made this as a mix in jars topped with marshmallows; I wrote the instructions on the tag and it went down well.

While chutney is an easy fix, it wouldn't be ready for eating for a while, so I'd steer clear of that.

Biscotti are a really easy but tasty make. With the bonus that they don't have to be stored in the fridge (like truffles) or eaten in a couple of days (like many edibles). This is the recipe I use, but I tailor the flavours to what I have in stock or what I fancy!

There is a recipe-card generator online that you can print up cute recipe cards. Slip them into a little binder, and viola, personalized cookbook.

I asked this question (without the panic as it was a while back) so there is a thread around here somewhere with loads of Good ideas. I'm on my phone so can't leftok and link but you could have a look...

Also, who is to say you're wrong and she's.right?

I made the bath bombs from red ted art. They need about a week to dry, 4 days in the silicon mold and 3 days out before packing into a glass jar...
