Tis the season

Oh look, it's broadly a place to talk about special occasions, party tips and to swap present ideas but let's be perfectly honest, this forum is here because I want to get excited about CHRIIIIIISTMAS from about June onwards.

Tis the season

Postby KatGoldLIN » 22 Dec 2011, 17:06

for my in laws to drive me fricking crazy!

My SMIL is just on at me CONSTANTLY about every little fecking thing I haven't done. Her house is a bomb site and my objectively very tidy house is up for constant criticism

I haven't slept more than 3 hours a night in a solid week and I was supposed to have this afternoon to make presents, but they can not get themselves organised to get out of the house or watch the kids, so I have now spent the entire day either cooking, watching children or entertaining them all, all the while listening to how they are up to "help" ME!!!

She went to the grocery store, and didn't buy anything on the list.

She complains that I drink soya milk.

She moans that my fridge and freezer are too small.

She nags me constantly about doing the washing.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

We are all supposed to be going to Edinburgh tomorrow to go to the Christmas Market, which is my favourite thing to do every year, but I just want to stay home with Theo as I can not listen to her moan about Edinburgh (its ugly and dirty...having lived all over the world, I would argue that only Salzburg is a more beautiful city....).

Please visit me in Cornton Vale when I smother her in her sleep.

How dare she?!?!?! Let me at her!!!!!

As for everything else, {{{KG}}} - I agree with BM; mitigating circumstances, there's not a jury in the land would convict...!

((()))) Oh man that is not fun. there are positives to living in China then... :)
I just hope that the time at the christmas market (BEAUTIFUL by the way) goes well. Maybe you can say you are nipping off to get some things, and leave them to wander? You know...for the entire day...then fake sleep on the way back home??? :)

KG, my mum used to do this negative comment thing wherever we went/whatever we did.
oh, petrol is so expensive here. oh, it's so cold/rainy/sunny/bright. oh it' such a large portion. oh, there are so many black people here etc etc

Dh and i made a point one year of being overly positive when we were visiting there. wow, look how CHEAP this petrol is (it's mostly about cost with my mum). she has now buried that attitude, at least when we are about, because she will just get back chat from us.

it does rather spoil the atmosphere to complain all the time...
