It's not the argument that bothers me. It is the prohibition of onions and garlic! Cruel!

I'll be rascal at the name changing ceremony please.

I'm happy if people want to come and try to sell us trainers or thesis emanuenses but religion? No no no. And certainly not spammers who then return to continue a conversation. Just throws all in to disarray.

Not an expert, by any means. But I think it's to do with killing the plant. You can eat seeds and leaves and stuff like that while leaving the plant to grow. But eating the bulb kills the plant.

"Strict vegetarian" isn't a great name because most people in the UK would interpret that to mean normal vegetarian but strict (so not eating the odd Haribo), but if you go to a place where there are a lot of Indians, that's what "strict vegetarian" means.

So what about eating carrots and potatoes and such? Doesn't that kill the plant too?

Interesting... So root vegetables are out too? Or would that be ok because you can take parts and the rest will still grow?

It makes me think of that chick Hugh Grant briefly dates in Notting Hill who says she's a fruitarian and only eats fruit that has fallen from the tree as plants have feelings. Alrhough quite a bit more logical!

Haha, great minds treeb! Cross posyed!

Yep, potatoes are out. Not sure about other root veg. is an informative wikipedia article if you want to know more - definitely at the edge of my knowledge here, and anything else I say will be researched on said wikipedia article!

Oh my goodness no aubergines! How can they possibly cope? I think I'd be fine as a vegetarian, but my diet would largely consist of potatoes, aubergines, onions and garlic.
