Bit worried

I'm hoping I'll be back on here next week saying it's all ok, but I made the mistake of googling after another hospital visit yesterday :(

We're still having checks for little E's kidney, ultrasound today and see consultant next week. And at her 6 week check the gp referred us for jaundice, which we thought was silly as she was less jaundiced than Moo ever was and he didn't need treatment. Her overall jaundice level was ok, but one type of bilirubin which they measure was in a borderline zone, she was retested yesterday and that level has gone up as a proportion of the total, so we're back again next week :( scary Google has shown me things about liver disease and horrible complications if it goes undetected.

Not wanting to worry my family with it because they'll be overly concerned and keep asking me about it, but I needed to tell someone! I know it might be all ok, but it's my prerogative to worry

Hugs. It must be really stressful. And I'm sure you can hear a collective wave of forumites saying 'Stay away from the Google!!' Although, I know I am equally as guilty and I'm pretty sure we all are. However, I think the key phrase in your post is 'if it goes undetected'. The odds of these things are tiny, but even if it's not the best news, then at least you're on it, they're on it, it's being looked into, it's not going undetected. Don't worry about things you can't change. Such an easy thing for me to say from the comfort of my sofa. Hugs again.

Having a new baby is stressful enough without added health concerns! Just remember that the doctors are looking out for you and monitoring things, so even if a problem does come up they are there for you and should be able to treat it as soon as possible. I hope everything turns out to be fine for all of you though!

Hugs to you all. If there is anything wrong then at least she's being monitored, but that won't help the next few days from dragging. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good results x

Google can be such a scary resource, and I would imagine it's impossible not to worry while there are still some unknowns, but as the others have said, she is being looked after, so the doctors can spot any problems before they cause further problems. Fingers crossed here too though that everything is fine!

Hugs. Please please stay away from Google. It only shows.you the very worst cases generally and it won't help your state of mind.

Focus on staying calm and on your gorgeous baby.

If there is anything then thank goodness you live where you do and things are being taken seriously, hopefully it'll just be a case of ruling out anything serious though.

Thanks everyone. I felt calmer just writing it on here, and what you all said is true. The sonographer said her kidney was looking better and will probably be told to stop the antibiotics when we see the consultant next week, just probably another scan to check it.
