Another tongue tie thread

Second babies? Forgotten everything about breast and formula, napping and wrapping and you are are going a bit MAD because you haven't slept in three days? Or it's your first baby and you are here researching the joys of weaning?

I hope you notice an improvement. Ours was immediate pain relief on my nipples and super pooper output at his end!

Cranio-sacral therapy can also help with releasing tension for your baby.

I'm so glad you were able to get it done sooner!

How come she only partially snipped it?

Hope you do notice some difference. With Bam, it was really noticable about a week after the snip but I did feel some difference straight away. It took a little while for him to learn to use his freshly released tongue and to build up the strength he needed to feed properly. Fingers crossed for a similarly positive result for you x

Did she give you exercises to do? Blowing raspberries, fingers along the gums to encourage tongue movement? Also agree with cranio-sacral therapy- the jaw and neck area can be really tense because of the TT so it might need releasing for maximum effect. Hope you notice a real difference soon.

I have no idea why she only partially snipped it; I suspect because she didn't think it needed doing at all. But I'm definitely noticing a difference: she's sucking harder and stopping to rest less. The night feeds have halved in length! – I got an hour more sleep last night. But then today she's been fussing on the boob, and I ended up with big squirty boobs she couldn't cope with and had to pump it out.

She didn't say anything about exercises, but I found some instructions. I'm finding it very difficult to get my finger under her tongue though. She just keeps trying to suckle on it. Any tips?

Come in from the sides and slide your finger under the tongue that way.
