Want to shed some weight.. Running Machine??

Hey everyone. I've got to the stage where I am a little fed up of the baby podge and would like to do something about it. Been feeling this way for a few months so now is the time to do something about it. I thought about a running machine because then I can always have my child close by and not have to bother anyone to come look after him for an hour or so whilst I go out jogging. I used to be a bit of a runner at school (oh to be that fit again) so I know I like doing it. Just haven't done so for over 10 years now! There any other fitness freaks here or someone that can give me a hand? My husband is pretty useless and lucky for him he's always had a near perfect body! I don't want to spend too much and I know these things are looking to be expensive if I buy a new one, so second-hand is definitely the way to go. Anyone aware of brands to go for? Reliable ones that will at least last a few years? I'm a bit lost but I am very serious about getting a bit fitter again, and looked at some on this site, some seem a bit too cheap though and may buckle under my frame (just kidding), but you get the gist. Would love a bit of help.

Jules x

Hi Jules. Come and join us on the Getting Healthy 2016 thread if you want group motivation :) . No idea on running machines other than they are ridiculously expensive and usually too big to get a decent one for home use, unless you've got a dedicated room it can go in. What about your local Park Run on a Sat morning while your husband looks after your child?

Hello :) Yeah I will join that group, thank you! I do have a space big enough and my husband works strange hours a lot of the time, so it's not conducive to me getting into a routine. He's willing to pay for it as the work he does, albeit quite unsociable hours a lot of the time it is financially rewarding. Anyway, it's all in the preliminary stages and my sisters gym has a good creche, she just lives quite far from me.

See you in the group! :) x
