I've got it set as lightly active. Although that says exercise 3 times a week which I don't do but I do walk to & from school 5 days a week as well as looking after the children. Trouble is the walk to school is at toddler pace. I'm just cross that the weight isn't come off as fast this time as it did with ds1 and I have more children to look after this time!

I'd bump it up to whatever the next activity level is, then. That should give you a more sensible calorie target - it doesn't really matter whether the extra calories burned are from BF or from exercise, if you are mainly interested in calories in vs calories out.

I changed it to active & that gives me 1650 calories which is probably ok to lose a bit while feeding. If nothing else I can use it as a guide of how many calories I'm eating even if what they suggest isn't quite right!

Now to actually do some exercise!!

Think I just changed my calorie target myself, just typed it in somewhere. I put mine at 1800 a Im breastfeeding six times a day still.

I changed mine myself too. I did all the proper settings then added 300. I'm reducing it little by little although squish is still feeding lots. Or you could add it in as an exercise every day. I tried to do that but was too annoying to have to remember.

Just clocking in here to make sure I start my healthier eating today! Dp and I had another run at "new years eve" last night as we were both poorly on the real one, so today is eating healthier, logging into mfp for a bit until i get a handle on quantities and either run or shred later depending on the weather

Wow that's good going Rah!

Managed a 5km run/walk this morning so was pleased with myself. I've lost 4.5 lb so pretty pleased with that too. There's nothing like losing weight to motivate yourself - it's when the weight loss stalls that it becomes a real struggle!

Well done Rah and babydsmummy! How's today gone DustyMcBrush?

Today didn't start so great with three chocolate biscuits dunked in my porridge :? And then a handful of unhealthy wedges, crisps and a cupcake at a children's party for lunch...but pulled in back with a good gym session and swim...phew!

Well done rah and bdm!

I've been kicking arse exercise wise - managed two gym sessions and a shred over the weekend - but I need to sort my diet out. Meals aren't too bad but I am so bad at snacking. Has anyone got any suggestions for yummy but low calorie snacks?

Not bad Cofa's Tree! I shredded, i am going to hurt tomorrow!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm finding motivation for healthy eating hard with it being winter. i think because i know im just wearing thick layers etc, i don;t have that drive that focusses me when summer is around the corner!

Okay, the diet starts tomorrow, and now it's time for the Moment of Truth:

I weighed myself tonight and I'm 71.7kg. Ideally, I want to be 58kg - that's 14kg to lose. :scream

To find a dress for our wedding in September, I reckon I need to have lost the weight by the beginning of June. However, trying to lose 14kg in 20 weeks seems like madness, and I am now discouraged before I've even started.

I tried different settings with MFP and I've ended up with Lightly Active and a goal of losing .8kg a week. I'm a little bit worried that losing that much every week might be bad for Newt's milk supply though.

I am bucketditch on MFP and I could really use the encouragement of friends, so kanga, marron, eterna, anyone else, please add me!

(thanks for the tip on the breastfeeding thing as well, eterna!)

Woo, 2lbs lost, making it 21lbs in total since Sept!

Good shredding DMB

Just keep looking at the small goals EF, if the big picture is too overwhelming. Do you know what type of wedding dress you will be going for? If it's easily adjustable (corset-type) or you have access to a seamstress, just achieve what you sensibly can rather than having a distant big goal to discourage you. Have you decided on any exercise options as well as healthy eating?

I've given up on the idea of low calorie snacks, except for fruit. I find I still want the cake/chocolate/cheese and end up eating it anyway. So I've started letting myself have a tiny bit of whatever (two ritz crackers and 12g of cheese, for example), recoding it accurately in MFP, and remembering that if I were to have another bite, it would taste the same as the last one (where's that from? Have I nicked it from here?). That works for the craving nice things, but not if I'm actually hungry. I find tea works as well as anything for actual hunger - fills you up like water.

Cofas Tree, that's fab! And over a decent period of time, too.

I still can't find the breastfeeding option. I noticed someone here has put it down as like an exercise or something, how did you do that?

Well done CF, that's great news.
