Haha, I don't think you're creepy CT! The more people I have watching me and making me accountable the better. Usually I do well for a few days then eat chocolate and stop filling it out... but no more!

Scales seem more accurate on the bathroom tiles in the morning... Who knows what was going on last night. Small loss since Tuesday so hurrah, and gym tomorrow.

Have added a few of you to MFP if I haven't added you my username is the same as this username if you want to add me. I just added the people who I saw when flicking through this thread.

Fitbit ordered

MFP downloaded and day 1 filled in (although as we're having takeaway curry tonight I think I may have cheated with the calorie intake lol, I promise to try and be better tomorrow)
How does it work out what your fat, carb and protein targets should be? I've upped my calorie allowance from 1400 to 1800 as I'm bf and can't find how to put that in officially.

The only way I could fit in a third gym visit a week was to go on a Friday evening...so, just done my first Fri eve gym session! Blimey, there's no way the old me would have even considered let alone done that!

I tell MFP that I've eaten 1000 kcal if I have properly naughty food (fish and chips, curry), and 800 kcal if I've had a vaguely sensible meal out. It's not accurate, but it's enough of a disincentive to not do it too often! I don't pay any attention to the fat/carbs/etc.

I'm very impressed at this gym going! We own a running machine and a rowing machine, both of which are looking rather like storage solutions at the moment.

Wow CF well done. I'm waiting for my Fitbit so I can get it to sync with MFP. (It does that right?) not that I'll be doing gym sessions or anything like that. Still need to buy a tape measure, or nick one from Ikea lol.

How does Mfp work? I'm assuming I have to put in how many calories I'm eating? Of which I have no idea! I could do with being able to put in '2 slices of toast with butter' and it work out the calories for me but I'm assuming that's asking too much?! Might just try & do it in a less structured way than counting calories at the mo & see how I go.

My sil is getting rid of a stepper so I'm nabbing it. Figured I can do it with ds2 in the sling if need be!!

That's exactly what it does Kanga! You can also scan barcodes and enter your own recipes. It's fantastic! Had a bad day yesterday but I am not letting it throw me. Back on it all today!

Well done Nix, today is new day so I hope it goes a bit better for you!

Yes Kanga, as Nix said you can search the name of an item and log it. It then adds it to your frequent foods list so it's quicker to find it if you have it again. You log your weight progress (or inches lost), update it as you wish and get a little progress graph to motivate you. You can also log your exercise and it will add it to your daily calorie allowance. I found it quite shocking when I first started using it to see how much I'm actually eating!

It's not always totally accurate, in fact I'd say it's probably not usually exactly right but it gives you an idea at any rate.

Well I've downloaded it & will fill it in for a few days & see. Is there actually a way to account for bf? To lose weight it's set my goal at 1380calories which doesn't seem much for bf. maybe I should set it at maintain weight rather than lose? Or just aim for 1500 calories anyway?

Eta I just found this on kellymom so could defnitley get away with extra calories on top of what the app suggests!!

'Studies have shown that most healthy breastfeeding women maintain an abundant milk supply while taking in 1800-2200 (or more) calories per day. Consuming less than 1500-1800 calories per day (most women should stay at the high end of this range) may put your milk supply at risk, as may a sudden drop in caloric intake.'

When Pip was little I used to add on 500 calories for bf as a food. There is also a toddler option too at 200 cals. Now she is bigger I total up how long she has fed and add it as an exercise. 10 mins is about 40/50 calories. I am twixxie on mfp if anyone wants an extra friend.

Kanga, what have you set your activity level as? Sedentary really is sedentary - I get bonus calories for doing more than 2000 or so steps. I do about 5000 steps on dats when I work at home and don't leave the house (just chasing C for a few hours in the morning / evening).
