I'm joining in, too. I've got at least two stone of post-baby weight to lose by July. We are getting married in September, and it's really important to me to get a nice dress in a nice size.

I just downloaded the my fitness pal app. I thought I remembered someone saying on the other thread (the original getting healthy thread) that you could indicate you were breastfeeding and it would adjust your calories. I can't find that feature now. Did I dream that?

I would love to have Mfp friends. My username is bucketditch. (Some imposter stole enigmafish!) Emzit, I'll look for you now.

I have added you enigma fish! How exciting to be getting married this year! I haven't figured out the bfing thing yet either but now she's not feeding every day I am putting it down as an exercise instead of diet.

Thanks Nix, it'll be good to have people to encourage each other!
It would probably help with getting excited if I actually started doing anything to plan this wedding. It's already coming awfully fast.

babydsmummy wrote:The floor definitely makes a difference - I've just moved ours to our new bathroom with a neater tiled floor and it now gives me identical readings when I get off and back on. 1 lb lost so far a few days in - not a lot but a start! Went for a run tonight and been doing well resisting the tempting treats at work.

Yes, I was going to ask what floor the scales were on. IME, scales are often inaccurate (read high or low), but they are pretty consistent (2kg loss is correct, even if it says 85->83 instead of 87->85), unless the batteries need changing or it's on a wobbly floor.

Ok, now on properly tiles floor. Readings in quick on and off checks (difference from the last one I decided was accurate, a few days ago):

+4.7
+1.9
+1.3
+0.7

I usually do it earlier in the day so I'll do it again then and if it's still jumping all over the place and much higher than before I'm getting a new one.

Tonight I youtubed a body combat class, and did it in my 25 degree lounge room after the kids were in bed. Dripping with sweat. But feel good. I love combat.

Feeling proud of myself today since I actually peeled myself off the couch and did a workout for once! I honestly don't even know when the last time was that I actually did a work out or even went for more than a 5 or 10 minute walk at toddler pace. I've been feeling so exhausted (and lazy) with combination of pregnancy and freezing winter temperatures, but I keep thinking that if I could only get started working out maybe I could help myself regain a little energy.

Found a 10 minute "power walk" workout on youtube which was just about perfect for getting me started. I was able to follow along and do the whole thing, but it definitely got my heart going and I started to work up a bit of a sweat. It felt good to get moving, so I'm really hoping I can keep the momentum up and start adding more workouts (even if they are just 10 minutes) into my days.

L and I are headed to my parents' house next week and I'm really looking forward to the prospect of using their elliptical while I'm there since the cold weather is really a big part of what's been stopping me from getting out and getting moving.

Ooh what's the link to the power walk? I think I could possibly manage that. I should get my wii Zumba game out again lol. No idea where it is though unfortunately.

This is the walk I did KC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATmqNBmxggQ

I'm also looking at this 15 minute lower body workout for tomorrow, since one of my knees has been acting up and I'm now worrying that the power walk may cause it to flare up again tonight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NespzPV_1uc

I started out doing the Jessica Smith YouTube videos too kc - they were a good start and I still have it in my mind to do one on a non-gym day but never seem to get round to it!

Ohhh, I just friend requested you on MFP emzit...hope you don't mind, I always feel a bit cheeky and expect the person to turn round and go 'Who are you? No, bugger off!'...which you can do if you want :)

If anyone else is on MFP and doesn't mind a friend then add me or let me know your name on there...I'm highly original and am Xxx (will probably delete that at some point in the future...if I remember!)

All you have to do is search in the food section for "breastfeeding" lots of people have added one, I use "toddler" -200 cal since my guy is only feeding 3 times a day now. Or I think you could just make your own "food" and enter -XXX for the calories.

Just downloading the my fitness pal app so will go back through the list adding people lol, I take it MFP is my fitness pal, not something different.

Going to order a Fitbit too I think and try and up my exercise level.
