Got on OK with the NHS one (done it twice now) v. easy to use, but has weird music. Not music I would try at any rate. Cant work out how to make the Davina app 'go' but definitky want to try as you can listen to your own music with that!

Managed my 3rd run today but it wasn't any easier! Think I shall repeat week 1 next week, think I might be setting myself up to fail if I move on to week 2 then can't do it!

TF, I bet all your Sewing Bee adrenalin is making you run super speedy!

Well, I am still running, but am a bit disheartened at how long it is taking me to progress. I go out at 5.30 in the morning whilst the girls are still asleep, and no one is around to see the snotty, sweaty mess I very quickly become. I did week 1, week 2, and have just repeated the whole of week 2, and STILL struggle to complete it (keep bottling 20 seconds of the last 90 second stint). The thought of starting week 3 is just impossible!

I keep reading about so many people who have managed to work through the weeks without repetition, yet here I am about to re-do week 2 for the third time! WILL IT EVER GET EASIER? I am running alternate days and have stuck to this without fail, but DH is away from tomorrow until Monday so will have an imposed break now for 6 days - I might even have to go back to week 1!

It is very easy to get despondent, but I keep thinking 'at least I am doing SOMETHING', which is more than I was doing before. And while I am so unfit, it is proper, real HIIT as my heart rate is totally through the roof repeatedly throughout the half hour. I know this will be good for my blood pressure, cholesterol, heart and insulin sensitivity - don't have a problem with any of these as far as I know, but it is good to focus on the benefits when the running itself is so horrendous!

{{{{{Mindy}}}}} My DH gave up after about two days! He said he wants to lose some weight first as he felt uncomfortable running. I'd like him to lose a bit of weight too :wink: I think repeating weeks sounds very sensible, some exercise is better than no exercise.

I'm now on week 7! I ran just over 2 1/2 miles this morning! A friend wants to do a 10K race in August, and she's asked me to do it with her. I'm not sure if I can manage that far, but it's something to aim for.

Go Toothfairy! 2.5 miles is fantastic - you will be doing your 10k in no time!! I'm feeling more positive now I am on my imposed break (DH away for 6 days) hee hee! Will probably have to go back to week 1 when I start, but that's ok - as you say, any exercise is better than none. Just need to reign the eating in yet again......

I told my Mum about the 10k last night. She said "But you don't run!" The look on her face when I told her that I go running at 6am three times a week was priceless :D

I have only just discovered the couch to 5k podcasts, just got back from run 2 of week 1 and I think I will be red in the face until past midnight! Just wondering how you guys were getting on with it? Tooth fairy have you done your 10k yet? That sounds mentally far to me at the moment!!

It was last Saturday, I didn't do it :oops: :( The hot weather really messed up my running, I've not been for a few weeks. I'm planning on starting again tomorrow morning. Now I've written it down here I have to do it!

I'vedone both of my runs in the evening and the slight chill has been very welcome, I can't imagine trying to run in the day when it's hot yet! Eta - I bet it won't take you long to get back into it though, and there is nothing like a public statement on the Internet to make you feel obliged to start :D

I've got a question though, on the podcast week one starts and finishes with a five minute brisk walk to warm up / cool down. I have only been doing that, so no stretches before and after, but my pegs are stiff as boards today and I have a hazy feeling my old PE teacher would be telling me it was my own fault for not stretching properly, so should I be doing stretches as well as the brisk walk?

Woop woop! Go TF! Daft question, but how do you keep track if how far you've run, I'm running across fields and looping around cul de sacs on my estate so not easy to figure out (not that my 60 second bursts are takin me very far at the moment, but one day I might be interested to know I ran a full mile!)

I either map it on the computer when I get home, or this morning I used an app called Runtastic which mapped and measured it for me.
